| another update from Mama
God in His perfect sovereinty has seen fit to give our daughter a very
serious heart condition. I am going to skip the details, but it will
require at least one open-heart surgery in her first week outside the
womb.
Please
pray for us to trust God completely and to have peace beyond
understanding during this time... oh yes, and pray for a miracle!
| in honor of the season, Mama said I could post the 14 Days of Homeschool
which is set to the tune of "12 days of Christmas." ENJOY!!!!
On the
first day of homeschool my neighbor said to me, "Can you homeschool
legally?"
On the second day of homeschool my neighbor said to me, "Are
they socialized, can you homeschool legally?"
On the third day of
homeschool my neighbor said to me, "Do you give them tests, are they
socialized, can you homeschool legally?"
On the fourth day of homeschool
my neighbor said to me, "What about P.E., do you give them tests, are
they socialized, can you homeschool legally?"
On the fifth day of
homeschool my neighbor said to me, "YOU ARE SO STRANGE! What about
P.E., do you give them tests, are they socialized, can you homeschool
legally?"
On the sixth day of homeschool my neighbor said to me, "How
long will you homeschool, YOU ARE S0 STRANGE, what about P.E. , do you
give them tests, are they socialized, can you homeschool legally?"
On
the seventh day of homeschool my neighbor said to me, "Look at what
they're missing, how long will you homeschool, YOU ARE SO STRANGE!,
what about P.E., do you give them tests, are they socialized, do you
homeschool legally?"
On the eighth day of homeschool my neighbor said to
me, "Why do you do this, look at what they're missing, how long will
you homeschool, YOU ARE SO STRANGE, what about P.E. do you give them
tests, are they socialized, do you homeschool legally?"
On the ninth day
of homeschool my neighbor said to me, "They'll miss the prom, why do
you do this, look at what they're missing, how long will you
homeschool, YOU ARE SO STRANGE!, what about P.E. do you give them
tests, are they socialized, do you homeschool legally?"
On the tenth day
of homeschool my neighbor said to me, "What about graduation, they'll
miss the prom, why do you do this, look at what they're missing, how
long will you homeschool, YOU ARE SO STRANGE!, what about P.E., do you
give them tests, are they socialized, can you homeschool legally?"
On
the eleventh day of homeschool my neighbor said to me, "I could never
do that, what about graduation, they'll miss the prom, why do you do
this, look at what they're missing, how long will you homeschool, YOU
ARE SO STRANGE, what about P.E., do you give them tests, are they
socialized, can you homeschool legally?"
On the twelfth day of
homeschool my neighbor said to me, "Can they go to college, I could
never do that, what about graduation, they'll miss the prom, why do you
do this, look at what they're missing, how long will you homeschool,
YOU ARE SO STRANGE, What about P.E., do you give them tests, are they
socialized, can you homeschool legally?"
On the thirteenth day of
homeschool I thoughtfully replied: "They Can go to college, yes you can
do this, they can have graduation, we don't like the prom, we do it cuz
we like it, they are missing nothing, we'll homeschool forever, WE ARE
NOT STRANGE!, We give them P.E., and we give them tests, they are
socialized, AND WE HOMESCHOOL LEGALLY!
On the fourteenth day of
homeschool my neighbor said to me, "How can I get started, why didn't
you tell me, where do I buy curriculum, when is the next conference,
WILL PEOPLE THINK WE'RE STRANGE? I think we can do this, if you will
help us, can we join P.E. and we'll homeschool legally."

| of cantatas, under-studies, "you're pregnant???"
and sore ribs
OKay, I have decided I need a post about my Mama. Did you know
she was in our church's Christmas cantata this weekend? The whole
orchestra was, but *my* Mama was the only 7-1/2 month pregnant woman in
it. Everyone thought she was crazy, and there were times when she
thought the same thing, but she had a LOT of fun and I enjoyed making
my debut too. And speaking of debuts... did you know that like half the
church was clueless that I am coming in February???? There were
quite a few "I didn't know you were pregnant!" comments this weekend...

Mama was the Mary under-study, or in other words, the "backup Mary."
The cantata was called "One Incredible Moment" and it had some
narration, lots of choral pieces and three solos... There was another
lady who was Mary (because she just had a baby boy a few weeks ago)
and she couldn't make it to the evening performance at our daughter church on
Sunday night, so Mama got to say the monologue. She was really nervous,
but she was glad to get to be able to put her practice to good use. As
she said, "the whole point of having a back up is 'just in case' so
that the show may go on!"
I'm giving my mama sore ribs again! I don't mean to, I just fit
so nicely there and it's my favorite place to sleep. Daddy says it's
because I'm cold... I don't know, I just like it. Anyway, Mama hasn't
been sleeping really well...
only 10 more weeks until I come!!!! HOORAY!!!
**yawn** It's time for a nap.
Love,
Princess Thumper (like my new name? Daddy gave it to me!)

this is Little Bun's Mama taking over for a few minutes...
I have been having regular, bi-weekly ultrasounds with the
perionatologist to keep track of how Little Bun's heart condition is
progressing. PTL that all the stuff they thought was wrong at 20 weeks are NOT.
They were measuring the wrong things which I guess is understandable
given what a prenatal gymnast she is.
Yesterday, we met with the
perionatologist and the pediatric cardiologist and they have diagnosed
Little Bun with VSD (basically a hole in her heart) and a "short but
appearently well functioning leaflet."
The bottom line is the hole has a chance of repairing itself,
either before or after birth, however it *is* on the larger side so
they want to keep watching it. The leaflet is a bit of a concern as
well, but there are many people with this condition who live normal
lives.
They have decided to refer me to another hospital which is
better equipped to deal with seriously ill babies. The hospital I am
currently at could do it, but there is a limit on what they can do.
At this time, they are wanting to have me labor and deliver
normally. However, this is subject to change pending my appointments
with the specialists at the other hospital on December 27th.
Please continue to keep us in prayer. God is giving us incredible
peace right now and that is a huge blessing. Pray that we continue to
trust Him.
Please also pray that we will have good attitudes about the whole
process. It's a longer drive to the other hospital and we will also
have less say in how the labor and recovery process will go. We'd love
to room-in, but that may not be possible depending on her condition.
Pray that the doctors and nurses will be open to our desires for
rooming-in and bf-ing only and for letting DH stay with us, etc.,
etc...
But God is so good and He is still on the throne!. Amen?
| IT IS GETTING CRAMPED IN HERE!!!!! and I must say it really
doesn't help when Mama decides she wants something that's on the floor!
It's like, hello!!! Do you really need it that badly??? Can't it wait until February?
Mama is not feeling so well these days. I feel sorry for her
and I try not to sit on any nerves, but like I said before, it's
getting hard to find anywhere to go, much less be picky about where that might be!
ONLY 11 MORE WEEKS!!! HOORAY!!!
